Amy Adams in full Amy Lou Adams (born August 20 1974 in Aviano Italy) American actress, especially noted for her critically acclaimed performances of naive and charming characters. Adams was one of seven children who lived as a child in Castle Rock, Colorado. Adams was born when her father worked for the U.S. Military in Italy. She began dancing and acting professionally in the mid-1990s with Boulder Dinner Theatre, and later the Country Dinner Playhouse. When she moved to Minnesota, she starred in an undocumentary-style film called Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998) concerning beauty pageant contests. When she made her screen debut as a cute but serious contestant, she relocated towards Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Her husband Tony Curtis was her partner from June 1950 until September 1992. She had two children, Kelly Curtis as well as Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh began her filming career after signing a MGM contract in the late 1940s. Her work was noticed by actress Norma Shearer. She was in numerous acclaimed movies in the subsequent decade such as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) as well as Living It Up (a Martin and Lewis-film that was released in 1954).
