Jennifer Garner was originally born in Houston Texas on April 17th 1973. However, she was raised at Charleston West Virginia. William John Garner was her father and a chemical engineering company called Union Carbide. Patricia Ann was a teacher at the local college. His father worked as a chemical engineer, which is why she wanted to be like his. Her move into New York in order to follow her dreams as an actor. She was employed at a restaurant while appearing in Broadway productions. Garner was a guest star in the series "Felicity." (It is on that show when she met her first husband Scott Foley.) Garner had her first big role with "13 going on thirty" which was a romantic comedy that was well-received. She played a teenage woman trapped in the body of an adult. Garner selected Gary Winick for the role as director. Both actors continued working together on other projects up to the time Winick passed away in 2011. Garner was appointed ambassador for Save the Children U.S.A. in the year 2009. The role entails encouraging nutrition and literacy across the United States, as well as early elementary education. Since 2014, Garner has been a part of the board of trustees of the organization. She has been pushing for early childhood education. Garner has visited many families as part of Early Steps to School Success the program created for parents to learn how they can support their children's development - and act as an advocate.
